These are rules taken from our discord but they apply to our community events on twitter and tumblr!AVALANCHE is a multi-purpose multi-ship multi-verse roleplay discord server, created in conjunction with the @midgaravalanche account on twitter and tumblr. Our vision is to create a positive and inclusive roleplaying environment. Our mission is to foster friendships, fuel fascinating plots, and to put on fun events for the verse. While we are most active in the FFVII verse, we welcome people from all fandoms.AVALANCHE has been known to miscalculate the explosives needed, or miss our target on occasion. But rest assured, we work hard to promote a supportive environment that allows creativity to flourish, and create space for everyone and their muses. To do this, please take some time to familiarise yourself with the rules of our discord server and general community guidelines.We are not a SL group, or a roleplay group that has 'mains' or muses that once chosen, cannot be written by anyone else. There's nothin' wrong with those - but our goal is much more broad: we want people to feel comfortable writing whoever it is they please without pressure.

RULES

GENERAL RULES

  1. You Must Be 18+ Without Exception. This is a community of adult writers, for adult writers. We appreciate the creativity younger fans have - but for the safety and well being of everyone involved, we require you to be 18_+

  2. Be Mature You will meet people from all walks and stages of life here. Please be mature in your interactions. If and when differences of opinions occur, those involved should resolve it like adults instead of stirring up strife. Learn from Elsa; just let it go.

  3. Conflict & Resolution In cases where conflicts have reached a stalemate, or there are issues pertaining to this server or our events in general, please remember that these are for the Administrators (those with @AVALANCHE HQ roles) and Moderators (those with @SOLDIER roles) to resolve. We welcome and encourage feedback via DM, but we do not tolerate individuals who take it upon themselves to act as problem solvers. Leave it to us, please. And if you don’t talk to us about something that is bothering you, remember we can’t help what we don’t know is a problem.

  4. The Be Nice Rule Be nice. Yes, a rather all-encompassing rule, but it really shouldn’t be that difficult an idea to grasp. This includes but is not limited to giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, refrain from judging, and not to take stuff too personally. Respect people’s pronouns and space. And just so we are clear: this is a LGBTQ+ friendly space, we do not discriminate against any race/religion/creed/citizenry, and this is a safe space for individuals with all manners of mental/health issues. If you’re confused or want clarification, ask any Admin/Mod.

  5. Outside Personal Conflict No name dropping. That also means no nicknames, initials, sly references, or anything like that. We do not wish for this server or our events to be utilised as a space to shit-talk behind other people’s backs. If you have a problem, go talk to the person or vent to a friend in DM/GC. You can reach out to any Admin/Mod if you have concerns about anyone in this server, and we will mediate a resolution. We want everyone to have a good time - that's the whole point!

RULES FOR ROLEPLAY

  1. Be nice part two: electric boogaloo. There’s a smorgasbord of muses you will meet here, including but not limited to canon-canon, canon-but-au, canon-divergent, canon-variant, OCs-that-are-actually-NPCs-within-FFVII, OCs-that-are-from-other-fandoms, OCs-that-are-original, OCs-that-are-crispy (it’s a KFC joke, now laugh), inter alia. No, you don’t have to write with everyone, but yes, you have to be nice to all so please drop the “you can’t sit with us” mentality. Be open, you never know which muse you bump into would be your next great writing partner. Take it from those of us who have been around; it’s a great way to meet people, grow your own muse and have fun writing!

  2. NO. SHIP. WARS. Absolutely no ship wars. It’s a tale as old as time when it comes to FFVII, please close that dusty old book and, on this one occasion, throw it onto the bonfire that was Nibelheim and lay it to rest. You don’t have to support a ship, but neither do you have to spit on one. That being said, we are also a multiship server. Multishipping =/= cheating, do not get mad/incite drama because your partner may ship with other people. You will be issued a warning, and if it continues, further action will take place. We have a Mod who is fond of burning things, and we would happily cast you onto the flames if you are found to incite any shipping wars.

  3. IC Does Not Equal OOC Appreciate the difference between in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC). It can get confusing, but don’t get confused. We do not tolerate people mixing up the two and making personal attacks. That being said, we also do not tolerate people hiding behind the “oh, I meant that OOC!” defense to act inappropriately. Clarify with the people involved if you are not sure, reach out to any Admin/Mod if you need assistance either way.

  4. God-Mode? Not So Fast, Sephiroth The only god we permit here is the one that lurks in the Church of the OWA; that is to say, don’t godmod. Talk to your roleplay partners, and don’t ruin the fun for anyone. If you godmod, Father Sefirot would spank you in confession. If you like that sort of thing, just go to church and ask for it.

  5. The NSFW Stuff While we're an 18+ community, we ask that you refrain from putting lewd or graphic photos into our tags for events. If your muse starts to get a little frisky with the honey at the Honeybee Inn - take it DMs.

If you'd like an invite, please please feel free to DM us on either twitter, or tumblr to get an invite - we want to give them out!!We here at the Midgar Avalanche community on twitter don't have quite the same lofty and er, illegal goals (though we wholeheartedly support the downfall of capitalism and fixing global warming!)At Midgar Avalanche, we simply strive to put on immersive events ranging from extravagant galas and balls for even the poorest character to experience magic for one night - to roleplay events where characters can shoot the shit at the 7th Heaven and meet new characters and hopefully create new connections in the roleplay community - bringing us all closer together and to create a roleplay community that thrives creatively and harmoniously.We aim to provide a positive experience for both newcomers to the roleplay scene and the old standbys. We may make mistakes just like Barret's crew (though thankfully we've yet to blow anything up) but our goal will always remain the same: to help people remember how fun and joyful roleplaying with others can be, and that the best roleplay comes from meeting new people and creating new stories with them.In the future, we hope to perhaps create long term, lasting storylines that affect the entire roleplay community and that have a lasting impact on characters via the events we run, whether it be a mission from AVALANCHE, a covert mission run by Shinra, or who knows! The possibilities are endless - and best of all - we always are open and willing to hear from YOU the community about what events and storylines you'd like to see!

We try to host at least one event each weekend with different times to try and accomodate different time zones! These events are open to everyone regardless of being in the FFVII verse or not - and in fact we encourage crossover!

7TH HEAVEN NIGHT

Every other week, Avalanche hosts #7thHeavenNight, an immersive community roleplay event meant to facilitate roleplay and get people writing! All you have to do is use the hashtag #7thHeavenNight on twitter or tumblr so others can find you! Or take the initiative yourself and seek out others in the tag to strike up an in character convo! We also retweet/reblog as many of your posts to boost them!Located in the slums of Sector 7 in Midgar, the original Seventh Heaven bar was built by an unnamed carpenter.
The bar is manned by none other than the local favorite, Tifa Lockhart, and serves up delicious drinks and grub to the people of the Slums.Also home to the ( probably, not actually, ) deadly #7thHellChallenge, a set of six hot wings designed to challenge the mettle of any who dares try.
Intended to house an anti-Shinra base from the start; secretly it is used for the Avalanche terrorist organization.Interested in helping the cause? Then order a Mako Wish and see what if your wish is granted...

Every few months, or for special occasions, we try to host bigger events! This includes balls, costume parties, fundraisers, beach parties and more! These are also MVRP/MULTIVERSE friendly!! Just join in with the tag and you're all set - you may just meet your next best roleplay friend!
